Federal minister of Planning, Development & Special Initiatives - Mr. Asad Umar stated: Youth specific projects will be completed on priority under PM’s directions for early execution.
ISLAMABAD: January 15, 2020: Muhammad Usman Dar, Special Assistant to PM (SAPM) on Youth Affairs briefed Asad Umar, Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives here at the Ministry regarding progress on projects initiated under the umbrella of PM Kamyab Jawan Programme (PMKJP). SAPM apprised the Minister regarding two of the components already launched under PMKJP i.e. Youth Entrepreneurship Programme (YES) and Hunarmand Pakistan (Skills for All). He informed the Minister that disbursement of loans under YES has already begun and applications are currently received under the Hunarmand Pakistan. Asad Umar emphasized that the present government under the leadership of the Prime Minister is keen to invest in youth for economic gains and creating jobs. He further said that the overwhelmingly youth population is a huge potential that needs to be adequately exploited and utilized. Mr. Dar informed the meeting that a total of 170000 students will directly benefit from Hunrmand Pakistan Programme. He said that increasing capacity and improving the quality of technical education in Pakistan is the focus of the programme. He added that 50000 students will be trained in high-tech trades including artificial intelligence, robotics, internet of things and cloud computing. SAPM said that the focus of the training is on creating employability in the country. “Establishment of National Accreditation Council, accreditation of 20000 Pakistani TVET institutes and development of 200 Standard National Qualifications are part of the Honarmand Pakistn”, added Mr. Dar. Mr, Asad Umar assured maximum support for the initiatives undertaken for engaging youth in the country. He said that structural and institutional arrangements will be ensured for PM Kamyab Jawan Programme so that projects started for the welfare of the youth are sustainable.
