The project has been initiated to facilitate unemployed youth for small scale entrepreneurial activities in GB. The project is being implemented through Akhuwat Foundation and an amount of Rs. 575.00 million has been disbursed till June, 2019 and around 100547 youth has been provided interested free loans through 32 branches of Akhuwat Foundation across Gilgit Baltistan.
The project aims to provide career counseling, awareness on social issues, provision of youth motivational award, youth exchange program for national harmony, internships and inclusion of youth for peace and development. Youth Affairs Department GB is conducting the mentioned activities in collaboration with youth forums, educational and religious institutions, local community based organization, and district administration etc.
The provincial Government of Gilgit Baltistan has allocated Rs. 6.00 million for FY 2019-20 as pilot project for E-Rozgar in GB. Youth Affairs Department is working with various stakeholders for the implementation of the projects.
