Meeting with EU Ambassador for collaboration with Kamyab Jawan
SAPM on Youth Affairs held meeting with EU Ambassador Ms. Androulla Kaminara in Islamabad. SAPM briefed her on 3 priority areas of Kamyab Jawan programme. These areas were identified by the youth themselves. SAPM also shared statistics on YES and Skills for All. Ms. Androulla Kaminara said that EU is also investing in TVET sector. EU is the biggest financier of TVET sector in Pakistan with GIZ is implementing partner. EU has spent about 91 Million Euros in this sector over the last ten years. “We want to work even better/ more for skilling Youth in the relevant fields considering the future demands,” said Androulla Kaminara. SAPM on Youth Affairs shared that Skills for All Programme was designed after recommendations from task force constituted for this purpose. “The skills sector is very close to the Prime Minister’s heart as he wants the youth to be skilled,” said Usman Dar. It was decided that a subsequent meeting will be held to explore potential collaboration between EU and Kamyab Jawan programme to benefit from their technical expertise.
